UAE Offers Long Term Golden Visas to Humanitarian Workers u.ae
The United Arab Emirates is strengthening its role as a global center for charity and humanitarian work. It has officially expanded its Golden Visa program to include humanitarian workers and volunteers. This gives qualified individuals a 10 year residency permit, providing stability so they can continue their important work from the Emirates.
This new visa pathway benefits the staff and volunteers of the UAE’s major non profit organizations. It recognizes their ongoing contributions to charity and community service, both locally and worldwide.
The Golden Visa for this category aims to attract and keep people who dedicate their lives to helping others. It is for professionals and long term volunteers in recognized charities, civil associations, and international organizations.
The expansion will significantly support key national groups. These include the Emirates Red Crescent, Dubai Cares, Dar Al Ber Society, Beit Al Khair Society, Sharjah Charity International, Al Ihsan Charity Association, and the Fujairah Charity Association.
To be eligible for the 10 year visa, individuals must meet one of several criteria. These include being a member or employee of a public benefit association for at least five years, completing five years or 500 hours of volunteer service, receiving an appreciation award from a humanitarian institution, or providing financial support of at least 2 million UAE dirhams.
A spokesperson for the UAE Ministry of Community Development said, “The UAE is a nation of giving. This Golden Visa expansion formally honors the people who live this value. By giving stability to humanitarian workers, we honor their past work and ensure they can continue to drive global change from the Emirates. This is an investment in our nation’s commitment to human dignity.”
This announcement comes as the Emirates Red Crescent has launched a major winter aid campaign worth 37 million dirhams, helping vulnerable people in 24 countries. Dubai Cares also continues its global education work with recent community projects.
This policy positions the UAE as a preferred home for global charities and skilled humanitarian professionals. The Golden Visa allows holders and their families to live, work, and study in the UAE without a national sponsor. They can also stay outside the country for long periods without losing their visa status.
This strategic move is expected to attract more international talent to UAE based charities, boosting the country’s role in global relief and development.
